Review: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ Is Handy for Light Work Tasks, Great for Entertainment

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series boasts impressive specs and is positioned as the new standard for immersive viewing.

The three models are the Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra. Each possess similar specs including the Dynamix AMOLED 2X displays to ensure sharp viewing and entertainment experiences, as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets that power them.

Naturally, they have slight differences to set them apart. For example, the Tab S9 comes with 8GB of RAM, while the S9+ and S9 Ultra have 12GB. The screen sizes also differ across models. The S9 is 11 inches, the S9+ is 12.4 inches, and the S9 Ultra is 14.6 inches.

All three come with the in-box IP68-rated S Pen, heralded to "bring ideas to life".

After trying out the Galaxy Tab S9+ for a couple of weeks, there were several things that stood out.

It's large enough to enjoy Netflix binge-marathons with minimal eye-strain, yet lightweight and portable so you can watch anywhere on-the-go.

Gone are the days of squinting at the phone in bed while streaming your fave shows. The 20-percent larger quad speakers and 16:10 aspect ratio make the Tab S9+ a great entertainment companion.

The Galaxy S Pen comes with all models and is a joy to use.

Taking down notes and doodling on the S9+ doesn't feel so different to scribbling on paper, with the added advantage of easy undo buttons, adding color and other features, as well as being able to save everything in one place.

It allows you to connect your notes with your phone, so you can edit and add in either device with autosaves in place.

You can also write in search bars, browsers, and app stores. I found the tool made the user experience speedier and more efficient, rather than just being a cute gimmick.

Placing the S Pen on the back of the tablet allows it to both be stored and charged at the same time.

The S9+ is pretty handy to complete light work tasks, but it doesn't quite replace a laptop, in my opinion.

The multi-window feature takes a while to get used to (or maybe I'm just that noob). But once you get the hang of it, you're able to see multiple apps as floating windows, while still showing the full home screen.

This is great for keeping apps open that you need in view, like Spotify and WhatsApp.

The switch from mobile gaming to tablet has its perks and shortcomings.

Due to the size and weight of the tab, it's not particularly convenient for mobile gamers who are used to holding a significantly smaller device. Personally, I found it troublesome.

However, once you get used to the weight and size, you'll never look at mobile gaming the same way. The tablet's processing power makes for smoother performances and with a refresh rate of 60Hz to 120Hz and HDR10+ technology, you get to see all the finer details when you game.
