BJAK Launches RM150 Million in Free Road Tax, Benefitting 6 Million M’sians

BJAK Sdn Bhd, Malaysia's leading digital insurance platform, has proudly announced the launch of its RM150 Million Free Road Tax program.

Aimed at revolutionizing the way Malaysians renew their road tax, this pioneering intiative provides an opportunity for people to renew their car and motorcycle road tax for free — made possible by a rather substantial RM150 million fund.

With a reputation as a reliable and efficient service provider, BJAK has consistently been at the forefront of digital innovation for the automotive industry.

The RM150 Million Free Road Tax initiative started in March 2024 and is expected to benefit over six million users across Malaysia, providing them with unparalleled convenience and accessibility in carrying out their road tax renewals.

"We are delighted to offer all Malaysians the opportunity to renew their road tax for free through this program. As a technology-driven company, we are committed to accelerating Malaysia's digitalization, and this initiative aligns with our vision," said Mandy Foong, Vice President of Marketing at BJAK.

"This substantial investment aims to encourage more Malaysians to utilize digital solutions for their road tax renewal, accessing all the benefits of digitalization easily, with a variety of options, and conveniently."

While the program conveniently aligns with the government's MyRoadTax digitalization efforts, it also supports Malaysia's broader agenda for digital transformation. With the active promotion of online renewals, BJAK also aims to reduce the need for physical renewal centers — reducing queues and enhancing overall efficiency.

In a bid to ease the financial burden that vehicle ownership may pose to some people, BJAK is also providing instalment plans for insurance renewals. The plan allows customers to spread out their payments over 12 months, making the process more manageable and accessible for everyone.

And of course, by reducing reliance on paper-based transactions and physical travel, the initiative will contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

The initiative comes just in time, with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) already making use of a digital road tax system, which lets vehicle owners share their e-LKM (digital driver's license) with other drivers through the MyJPJ app (available on Android and iOS).

Embrace digital innovation and enjoy the convenience of digital road tax renewal.
