Singapore Ranks 5th Least Corrupted out of 180 Countries in 2023’s Corruption Index

It is the only Asian country in the Top 10, with Hong Kong following in 11th place.

According to the Corruption Perception Index for 2023, Singapore managed to secure the same ranking: Fifth out of 180 countries.

Maintaining the same rank as 2022's index, Singapore scored 83 out of 100 points.

The corruption situation in Singapore remains firmly under control and is painting a good image of the country.

The index ranks and measures countries by their perceived levels of public sector corruption and is calculated using data from 13 external sources.

Countries are then scored on a scale of zero (for highly corrupt) to 100 (for very clean).

What is Transparency International?

They are an independent and non-profit working with like-minded partners across the world to end the injustice of corruption.

Other than Transparency International, there are other reports that prove Singapore's credibility to achieve good scores.

According to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), Singapore has also scored well in other indices and surveys.

In the World Justice Project Rule of Law Index 2023, Singapore was ranked 3rd for absence of corruption, the top Asian nation out of 142 countries.

The Political and Economic Risk Consultancy (PERC) ranked Singapore as the least corrupt country in its 2023 Report on Corruption in Asia out of 16 economies.
